On the second day of filming at West End, we stumbled upon a guy dancing to a dubstep song so we decided to film him. We intend to use some of his dance moves in our music video to add a bit of wow!! Here is him dancing...

Making of music video: Exploring effects on Final Cut Pro!
We imported all of our clips into Final Cut Pro from both memory cards an we decided to explore the video filters, as we want our video to appear brighter and 'glowy'. Here is a video of the fountains and us editing it. Post a comment and tell us what you think :)

Making of music video: Third day of filming!
Today we filmed our final (hopefully) filming session, and our aim was to get quite a few base tracks of the main artist, and one master track and a few more other location shots and I think we achieved that!
When we first got to the Barbican, we filmed me walking up an uphill steep slope, which could possibly one of the first shots you see in the music video. It went pretty well but the only problem was you couldn't really see my lip syncing from far away, so I had to start when I got a little closer. The lighting was pretty good that day so we took up the opportunity to get as many shots as possible!
Prince seems to have a thing about the buildings in the Barbican, so we took a few more interesting long shots and high angle shots of them.
We wanted to find more interesting shots within the Barbican, so we looked around and stumbled upon this really pretty fountain that was surrounded with big rocks that I could sit on (barely!) and lip sync the whole song to. In the particular position that I sat in, the water coming out of the fountains looked like angel wings behind me, which was perfect with the whole image that we wanted to go with, which was angelic and bright so it worked out pretty well with my costume; a white dress with big 'flowy' chiffon arms and silver make up.
We didn't think of this before, but we thought we might include a 'jungle' theme throughout our video. Within the Barbican we found this really amazing part that is covered in bamboo trees and leaves and the scenery looked amazing on the camera, so we filmed quite a few shots of the singer performing, and took up the chance to get Prince, dance in there, which looked really good so we will definitely be using that.
To include more variety in our shots we filmed some ECUs of body parts such as my eyes or my mouth and a CU of my face singing much to my displeasure lol! Overall I think we did good despite not all of the group membes being there, I can't wait to go and edit this and make it amazing!
Until then!

Making of music video: Second day of filming!
The first thing we filmed will be used as a clever editing trick. I stood in angel looking at a camera for ten minutes (which was VERY hard as I couldn't stop laughing, but I managed it in the end) while the crowd walked past me, including a cameo appearance from my group members. This footage will then be sped up so it looks like the crowd is rushing past me, which we think would look quite effective. However, we wanted more of a buzz o people, so we went to west end!
In the west end, we filmed me walking around in my costume, which was the dark costume with the dark make up, and we also filmed me lip syncing in a front of a white wall, which was very embarrassing mind you, but we got it finished in the end. We also were lucky enough to bump into a couple of performers who were doing dance to dubstep (our genre) so we took up the chance and filmed them dancing (with their permission of course!).
Overall I think we got very good shots! On Saturday we should be filming part 2 of the singers performance, will be a whole base track in the Barbican. I'm excited! Stay tuned :)
PS. Here are some pictures I took after the filming!

Until then!
Stephanie
