Making of music video: Editing updates

So we had a full house today, me Kehinde, Prince and Medhi. In our afternoon media lesson we decided to fix up the glitches in our video, such as the lagging in when I speak - eg instead of me finishing the verse before I move on to the next clip, you see me forming the next verse with my mouth before it changes, which made it look a little messy so we fixed that up. Also, some of the dance scenes were dark compared to the bright performance and other dance scenes, and it just looked quite amateurish compared to everything else so we took it out. me personally I would LOVE to just remove it all but Prince is very stubborn! I'll see what I can do...

Making of music video: Audience feedback

I have shown a few people and asked their opinion of our video. Here are a few phrases.

Hannah (Friend) - 'It's really good. I like the variety of camera shots that you've used. Well done!'


Tony (Teacher) - 'It's quite good, you've done a good job. The mise en scene is fantastic you chose the costume really well'


Rebecca (Teacher) - 'Good job guys, there are few things to work out but it's looking great'

Overall, the reception we got was positive. Our teachers were slightly more critical, but it was constructive criticism, and we will take that they say on bored and rectify any issues.

Making of music video: My thoughts on the rough cut

Overall I think the rough cut went quite well, there are a few glitches and it i a little rusty around the edges, but its nothing me and my team can't fix with a lot of determination and willingness to give up our free time. The start of it I think is quite good but the ending needs abit of work, and some shots are best not used, such as the dark lighting in freestyling and some wonky shots. Overall, the teachers reception of my performance as pretty good and they loved my costume, make up and the mise en scene (YES!). We will continue to edit and perfect our video, making it look amazing. If Chris Brown can create his video Look At Me Now with Final Cut Pro, and make it look professional then so can we!

Was the Nero song Guilt a right choice?

It was completely the worst choice ever! No only joking, i do not have any regrets choosing this song as the timing of the beat with the dancers is fantastic. It really suits our ideas as well, not forgetting the fact that there is enough lip syncing, enough duration of the song, and enough time for the dancers to match the beat. Our video also is completely different to the actual video which is also something positive. So there you have it really is a great decision we made as the other songs such as, Nero 'Innocence' did not match our ideas of how our music video should be.

Effects were amazing!

The day we were editing i did not really go through the amazing effects we used. I just want to say i love using many effects as it makes it look more professional and amazing rather then a ordinary video. The colour of the water going from ordinary to extraordinary. It looks a lot more amazing since it is bright and gives us that extra bit of edge in our video. Also the reverse of the dancers at certain points made the video look a lot better as it gave us a different dimension to the world. 

Anyways i hope you enjoy our rough cut like i mentioned earlier it is out to see!
