Analysing Previous student videos

In class we looked at previous A2 students work on making their own music videos my faviorite one was the A2 Media video in November 2008  which is 'the world is yours'. Out of all the videos we watched good and bad this was the video that caught my attention imediatly, this was the video that made me say 'This is a fantastic piece of work'. Although it is not a british song this is the old A level although that does not take away the fact that this video is great. First of all the intended audience is for young urban males. The genre is hip-hop/pop. The narrative/structure reflects/illustrates key lyrics that goes along with the video, for example the range of people being showed coming from different cultures and backgrounds. The media language shown is the camera 'Fish eye lens' which is something different and interesting as it focuses on the artist and the scenery.

In additon the range of Urban locations being used such as place where there is grafiti on the walls and also the outside world like the streets. Also the extremely rapid pace of editing being used with the locations using this to blend two different shots together. The use of having a grey/black and white background shows the urban lifestyle as it shows the struggle of this kind of life since their is no colour. The Lip syncing is also great as it is on point with the artist and the movement of the artist. The repersentation is young urban males for example the clothes being worn such as the jacket and cap. The camera is also moving in time and space it is not set in one specific times as you can tell the clothes being worn by the person changes at different times.

This is the video.
