Research for Music Video: Copyright clearance

Over the summer holidays, I thought long and hard about the type of genre I wanted to do, as I didn't want my music video to be boring and generic. I decided on an indie/pop or R'n'b genre because I thought it would be the easiest to have a base track on and lip syncing would be fairly easy. I chose two female solo artists from Britain and emailed each of there respective record companies asking for permission to use their song in our music video. Here are two of my print screened requests.
