Reflecting back on the As year: Digipak cover with strength and weaknesses

After the making of the music video, the next step is to make the Digipak. In order to do this, we were thought how to use Photoshop (some people knew how to use it already). We were thought how to do the page set-up for a Digipak, the tools that were in the Photoshop that we could use for the Digipak, the symbols and shapes, the ideal writing fonts, etc. It was quite easy to use photo shop as it made us to be as creative as we want to be. We were given some Digipak for inspiration and they really helped.
The front cover of my Digipak has the picture of me and my team mates, the name of our group and the name of the album in it. I used the image as the cover because it is introducing us and also shows that we sang the song in the album (seemingly). It is noticeable that the name of the group is bent to cover the three of us, this is just to emphasise the point of the group i.e. that we did it together.  The name of the group is actually a combination of “versatile” and “style”. The name of the album was just something I thought of that rhymed. In the back cover, the background is the picture of me being videoed during the production of the music video. I used this picture just to reinforce the idea that we actually did the music video and to show my audience the making of the video. Also in the back cover is the list of the song in the album all written in some weird shape. I used this shape because at first sight it was peculiar and outstanding. In some ways, I wanted it to speak of my group as being outstanding and different from all others. The Catalogue number I used in the Digipak is a combination of my birth date. The barcode, list of songs, Copyright information and Production company name are all on the back cover because that is their conventional position. Also, the name of the group, name of the album is in front i.e. their traditional place. As well as the catalogue number written on the side bar which is its accepted position.
Getting the pictures I used in the Digipak to photo shop was quite an easy task. All I had to do was import the picture (from the memory card) into photo shop. The logo and name of the production company was gotten from student resources on the computer.
Amongst other tools that I used in the creation of the Digipak, I used the text tool which helped in writing all the text in the Digipak. I also used the shape tool where I got different shapes like the box where the name of the album is and the weird shape at the back where the list of the songs is written in. Finally, I used the Crop tool to crop the pictures that I used after importing it from the memory card. The crop tool helped me to get rid of unnecessary space around the picture.
On the whole, I am really happy with the finished work but next time, I will try harder to learn the lyrics of the song for a better lip syncing and better music video. I will also work better on my Digipak, for example, choose a better colour arrangement.
