Analysis of a music video that i consider to be the best example of the music video form.

I have many examples that i consider a good example of a music video. The song that i will choose is black eyed peas 'Where is the Love' mainly due to its message and the video interacting with the viewers, it is probally the only black eyed peas song i like!

This video is clearly a good example of a video form as it has many obvious edits such as zooming and many cuts as a music video should contain. The artist 'Fergie' makes contact with the camera so that it shows she is speaking to us. The editing is in time with the scenes it shows for example, when they say 'Where is the Love?' it shows the same picture of a question mark. It also shows many people one by one it goes with the many cuts to show us the emotions of the characters in the music video. The video also shows us a message not only a message but a good one with the lyrics being mentioned. In additon it shows the range of locations being shot mainly outside and one in the verhicle. Furthermore what makes me also interested is the fact the clothes they wear is not anything special its something we would tend to wear on a daily basis, their are no fancy dresses or constumes included it shows the music as being in reality, the world we live in. This being one of the first videos they released and what a way to start it! to show us a good message. It shows us it doesnt matter weither your black, white, asian, hispanic etc... what ever religion you follow but everyones equal which i always felt strongly about. To reinforce tha statement the close ups are shown a lot on the characters and as you can see all the children shown come from different backgrounds.

The cuts start of slow then really fast at the start of the video so it shows in balence which is also good because one can say the song is about being imbalenced with the world we live in for example.
